Shopify and Magento differ in their platform architecture, so we had to adapt the client’s product catalog and website structure to Shopify’s framework. This stage was critical to ensure a smooth customer experience despite the changes in the underlying systems.

Managing a catalog of 500,000 products required special attention to scalability and infrastructure performance. In this stage, we opted for the Shopify Plus migration package, which was specifically designed to support large-scale operations and high-volume catalogs.

Theme Selection and Installation
To accelerate the migration, a ready-to-go Shopify theme was chosen, closely matching the existing website’s UX/UI design. We then made the necessary customizations to ensure the theme fully matched KitchenRestock’s branding and functional requirements.
We explored various options and selected one that closely matched the current website’s UX/UI, making the necessary customizations to fully align it with the client’s needs.
To export a large dataset, we used a proprietary application and developed custom scripts and tools to format and transfer data accurately. The proprietary app was also adapted to facilitate data handling. This process included a thorough validation step to ensure all product details — such as descriptions, images, and pricing — were preserved.
